Our Story - a note from one of the the co-founders, Maria
It all began with Beckham...
When I was a girl, all I wanted was a dog. Year after year, I wrote "dog" 100 times on my Christmas list to Santa and nothing else. I would even put my stuffed animal puppy on a skateboard to roll around for walks to show my parents how ready I was for dog ownership. Just when I started to lose hope, it happened!
One of the happiest days of my life came when Beckham ran through the door and into my life. He quickly became my best friend. His boundless puppy energy matched mine, and we could play for hours. He was everything I ever wanted and more.
Beckham goes to Uni!
The big day came for me to leave home. But I wasn't going anywhere without my dog- I was taking him with me! Beckham quickly adjusted to college life, replete with frat parties, pre-exam all-nighters, and lazy sleep-ins on the weekend. Needless to say, he was a big hit with the ladies on campus. Beckham graduated with First Class Honours in his Bachelor of Belly Rubs.

Adulting together
Eventually it was time to put the red solo cup down and step into adulthood. I always say Beckham and I kind of grew up together. He was by my side through it all - from a myriad of disappointing situationships (we've all been there, right?) to starting my first 'real' job to opening up a savings account.
For Beckham, adulthood was more about slowing down, watching his weight, and sprouting a few white hairs. But I never left him behind, whether it was taking him on summer holidays with me, after work dinners on the strip, or moving in with my first long term partner.
Grateful for it all
In 2017, Beckham became very ill virtually overnight. He had a very aggressive form of cancer, and the vet told us it was time. He went from seemingly healthy one day to needing to be put down the next. It was completely devastating, but I was so grateful that he did not suffer for long and that I was able to be by his side for his last moments on Earth.
I am grateful for every single moment that I had with my best friend, partner-in-crime and furry support system. The only thing I would change is to be able to have more time with him.
Beckham's memory lives on
Shortly after Beckham passed away, I went to law school here in Australia, became a lawyer and never left. I did, however, leave the legal industry after coming up with the idea to commemorate Beckham's memory by creating a never before seen all-in-one supplement that would help dogs live longer, healthier and happier lives.
Beckham is the reason why I started Marlo. I want to give dog mums and dads the chance to have more time with their best friends and make all the wonderful memories I made with my mine.
And so Beckham lives on, in my heart, through Marlo and now in your dog's food bowl.
